We have just completed and uploaded a short video introduction to ‘Wise Women Will Save the World’. The clip is called ‘Healing our Planet by Amplifying the Influence of Women’ which is also our tagline.
The clip’s theme is based on our firm belief that the values, wisdom, influence and solidarity of women worldwide as an essential pre-requisite to the dismantling of toxic patriarchal systems that are ruining our planet and its people.
We are also in the early stages of producing one or more satirical video clips aimed at ridiculing patriarchal systems and exposing their devastating effects. We chose to contrast the terrible consequences of male-dominated cultures, religions, political structures and organisations with the innocence of the Lego children’s toy.
Glance at these stills of some of our tiny sets and you’ll see several recurring symbols: the weapons and menacing faces represent power, control and aggression, while the skeleton represents the death of all that must be destroyed or exploited to gain wealth (represented by the treasure chest). Notions of greed, entitlement and a ‘win at all costs’ mentality are also bound up with these symbols.

‘Saving the Savages from Themselves’. With all guns blazing, imperial forces colonise, dominate and exploit a world full of local tribes, cultures and ecosystems.

‘Taste Takes a Holiday’. A sensitively designed resort building probably constructed on the last known habitat of an endangered frog, or a sacred site of a nearly vanished indigenous tribe.

‘The New Dinosaur’. This mechanical creature is our metaphor for the monster that patriarchy has created. Driven by greed, aggression and privilege, it crushes the very things it ultimately depends on.

Even as they are being crushed by the monster of patriarchy, many people still succumb to the seduction of a smiley face accompanied by “Have a nice day”.

The monster of patriarchy is driven by greed, aggression, privilege and a callous disregard for planet and people.
I often wonder how much of our “good old boy” system is fueled by women’s desire to have their men somewhere other than in the home. I find that when I have a solid plan, with accompanying action items and complete instructions, my men are quite useful as partners in maintaining my home and family. Patriarch can only be replaced with partnership, not matriarchy, if we are to have a peaceful, productive planet.
